Music and arts Journalist 

Hello, my name is Jessica Contreras. I am a music and arts journalist currently based in Moscow, Idaho. My experience is in writing blog posts, social media stories, and multimedia stories. With a bachelor's degree in journalism from The University of Idaho, I have acquired a diverse set of skills. These skills range from newsgathering to social media management. 

I grew up in Idaho Falls the majority of my life then moved to Rigby as a teen. High school is when I first got the idea to want to become a journalist. The news was always interesting to me and writing about music was a hobby of mine. After, high school I still wasn't sure what I wanted to do but I felt like journalism could be the right fit for me. Besides writing, my other passions include playing my bass guitar, spending time with my pets, and going out with friends.

For my future projects, my focus will be on covering my beat and what is timely. I want to continue keeping interest in the arts and music, which have been an essential part of humanity. ​
